So you just bought a new laptop or PC and 6 months later you are bogged down with a plethora of viruses. These new definitions are downloaded daily or weekly and they keep your antivirus software up-to-date to the newest virus threats. After the free trial on your new computer system has expired then you will no longer receive the new definitions and soon after you will become infected by a new virus that you system does not recognize. It is important that you monitor how much time is left in your initial trial in order to avoid a larger headache in the future.
